Gray:  Hot to incorporate the hottest trending color into your home.

Doesn’t it feel like the whole world is going gray?  And no, I don’t mean gray hair (I could do a separate post on covering my gray hairs) but I mean the most popular color for paint, fabric, furniture and…well everything!  I love gray and have been using it as a base color for my designs for a few years so I thought I would share a few of my favorite gray items for decorating and design.

Let’s talk paint…there are so many gray paint colors out there and it’s hard to know which shade of gray is the perfect shade for your home.  There are warm grays, cool grays, blue grays, taupe grays…the options are overwhelming so here are a few of my favorite gray paint colors right now.

Sherwin Williams:  mindful gray, requisite gray, pewter tankard, knitting needles and dovetail.  Benjamin Moore:  AF-675, AF-690

Cabinets and furniture, these have gone gray as well.  When we remodeled our kitchen last Spring, I chose gray cabinets for the bar in my kitchen and I love how the gray compliments the white and gives a nice balance to the space.

There are some great gray tile options on the market right now.  You can find gray tones in everything from natural stone like marble and limestone to porcelain and even concrete tiles.

Fabric, upholstery and pillows in gray and that coordinate with gray are readily available too. Gray is the perfect neutral color that can be traditional or modern so don’t be afraid to incorporate gray into your next home renovation project!
